The Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the OECS Regional Health Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services for the FELTP Train the Trainer Course and the Administration of Virtual Training

 

OBJECTIVE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

To contribute to the strengthening of the surveillance systems of the Caribbean though promotion of the training capacity in Ministries of Health regionally by creating a critical mass of qualified trainers in applied epidemiology and public health surveillance. 

 

BRIEF SCOPE OF WORK

 

To develop a “Train the Trainer” course that would expose participants to the range of methodologies and techniques that aid in the delivery of a, CR-FELTP learning experience. The workshop would be highly participatory and practical, focusing on techniques, tools and tips of teaching and training management. The programme developed is intended to have a positive impact, contributing towards the development of a pool of trainers to build capacity within the health systems of the Member Countries.

The Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) now invites eligible consulting individuals (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The shortlisting criteria is as follows:

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The candidate must possess the following qualifications and experience:

 

 

Academic Qualifications

 

  • A MSc. degree from a recognized University in Education, or instructional design or training and development

 

Specific Experience

  • Extensive experience (at least 5 years) experience in completing trainings/workshops for organizations
  • Experience and knowledge of work-based training and education programmes
  • Sound knowledge of training and evaluation methods and techniques

 

General Experience

  • At least 4 years’ experience working in Public Health education
  • Experience of facilitation of trainings/workshops and presentations
  • Demonstrated, broad knowledge of and ability to utilize principles, methods, techniques and systems of project management

 

Languages

 

  • Excellent knowledge of English – written and spoken

 

IT Skills

 

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use software programmes such as Microsoft Office suite of tools including MS Teams, Zoom, and Moodle.

 

Other requirements

 

  • A sound understanding of public health issues along with the cultural and political challenges faced by Caribbean territories as demonstrated by involvement in projects treating with public health issues
  • Experience working with Caribbean countries will be an asset

 

Duration of the assignment: The contract will be for a period of 4 months

A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Open Competitive Selection of Individual Consultants set out in the Procurement Regulations.
