"Hello, I am Dr. Joy St. John, Executive Director of the Caribbean Public Health Agency. On behalf of the Agency, we congratulate you on your recent appointment and welcome you to our specially designed page for new government officials. Our hope is to develop a long-lasting partnership, as we strive to achieve great things collaboratively for the public health good of all Caribbean people. We have twenty-six (26) Member States and campuses in Trinidad and Tobago, St. Lucia and Jamaica and encourage you to visit us whenever you are in any of these countries. Welcome aboard!

Introduction

CARPHA was established in 2011 as a public health agency by CARICOM Heads of Government. It became operational on January 2, 2013. It is a merger of five Regional Health Institutions: Caribbean Environmental Health Institute; Caribbean Epidemiology Center; Caribbean Food and Nutrition Institute; Caribbean Health Research Council; and the Regional Drug Testing Laboratory. The merger enhances the depth and scope of support to our Member States and prevents overlap of function.
