Aim

The aim of the Network is for members to support each other and work together to ensure more effective distribution of public health information throughout the Region.

Purpose

The purpose of the RHCN will be to develop, implement and monitor and evaluate communication responses to identified priority public health issues; facilitate the strengthening of health communication capacity at the country and regional level; facilitate sharing of information and knowledge management.

Annual Meetings

Meetings:

The Network meets quarterly i.e. four (4) times per year. At least one meeting is face-to-face while others may be conducted virtually. Additional meetings may be conveyed as necessary.

Effective health communication is critical and Member States commit to sharing best practices with each other. Overall, the meetings are geared at advancing Communications and Health Promotion Specialists' knowledge on the development and implementation of strategies that can help improve public health outcomes. This knowledge develops positive attitudes toward health issues and promotes positive decision-making to improve the lives of Caribbean people.
