GIZ Hands Over Vehicle to CARPHA

Castries, Saint Lucia. 20 October 2023. The Global Programme Human Mobility in the Context of Climate Change, commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), started in May 2018 and ended in September 2023.

On 19th October 2023, Dr. Annett Fleischer, Head of the GIZ Global Programme Human Mobility in the Context of Climate Change handed the project vehicle, a Nissan X-Trail, to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA).

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Dr. Annett Fleischer thanked CARPHA for being a valuable partner for the past five years. She emphasised CARPHA’s support for the successful implementation of the Global Programme.

CARPHA’s Executive Director, Dr. Joy St. John, expressed thanks to GIZ noting that access to this asset will be key to the continued proficient operation of the Agency’s Saint Lucia Campus to provide essential services to our Member States.

Dr. Fleischer took the opportunity to thank CARPHA and provide commitments to future support.

She stated “On behalf of GIZ, I would like to thank CARPHA for the continuous support of the ward to continuing its collaboration with CARPHA.”
