The Caribbean is the second region in the world most prone to natural disasters. Over the past five years, the frequency and severity of storms within the Caribbean region have increased. Post disaster surveillance is critical in the assessment of vector control needs and management of VBD outbreaks. Hence post disaster in-country assessments is a key service provided by the Unit.
